چکیده
In the present work, laminar flow through a circular cylinder with two crossed splitter plates is analyzed. The characteristic-based method has been used along unstructured grid. current research done to detect proper conditions according geometrical parameters in which optimal heat transfer taking place. Geometric control are angle of (\theta) and ratio length plate radius (n=L/D). It was found that use two-branched not wise Reynolds number less than 100 due its insignificant effect properties. 30° between plates, least drag force witnessed respect other angles. Application double branched angles more 60° recommended, will increase total significantly. Since increases, overall from set enhanced. Minimum over cylinder, maximum convection drop it taken place when dimension 0.75. Between dimensionless lengths 1.25 1.5, Nusselt oscillates amplitude such behavior also observed splitters 60°apart.

Numerical Study on Hydrodynamics and Heat Transfer Characteristics Around a Cylinder with Inclined Splitter Plates
In the current paper, the effect of length and angle of a splitter plate on hydro-thermal field in a range of Reynolds number from 40 to 1000 are numerically studied by solving the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations. For discretization of governing equations, PISO algorithm was imposed to segregate the pressure-velocity coupled equations, and second-order upwind discretization scheme was a...
متن کاملThermo-mechanical analysis of a coated cylinder head
This paper presents finite element analysis (FEA) of a coated and uncoated cylinder heads of a diesel engine to examine the distribution of temperature and stress. A thermal barrier coating system was applied on the combustion chamber of the cylinder heads, consists of two-layer systems: a ceramic top coat (TC), made of yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ), ZrO2-8%Y2O3 and also a metallic bond coat...
متن کاملThermo-mechanical analysis of diesel engines cylinder heads using a two-layer viscoelasticity model with considering viscosity effects
Loading conditions and complex geometry have led the cylinder heads to become the most challenging parts of diesel engines. One of the most important durability problems in diesel engines is due to the cracks valves bridge area. The purpose of this study is a thermo-mechanical analysis of cylinder heads of diesel engines using a two-layer viscoelasticity model. The results of the thermo-mechani...
متن کاملA finite difference scheme for magneto-thermo analysis of an infinite cylinder
A finite different scheme as well as least-square method is presented for the magneto-thermo analysis of an infinite functionally graded hollow cylinder. The radial displacement, mechanical stresses and temperature as well as the electromagnetic stress are investigated along the radial direction of the cylinder. Material properties are assumed to be graded in the radial direction according to a...
متن کاملFlow and heat transfer behaviour across circular cylinder and tube banks with and without splitter plate
This paper describes the passive flow control of fluid in the downstream direction of the circular tube and in tube banks by means of splitter plate. Heat transfer and pressure drop depend on complex flow pattern of fluid in tube banks, whereas pressure drop linked directly with the fluid pumping capacity. A primary focus is to review experimental, analytical and numerical works that had been c...
